ABOUT ME

I am Rocío Lasierra Roy, a Spanish filmmaker and theater director with a multidisciplinary background in cinema and performing arts. I hold a Master's in Dramatic Writing and Audiovisual Arts from INSAS (Brussels) and studied filmmaking at Bande à Part in Barcelona.

My artistic journey began in theater, where I combined physical performance with contemporary narrative structures, often focusing on immersive and documentary theater. I’ve directed and collaborated on various productions, including Arabian Night in Madrid and the Mimouna Festival in Brussels.

As my career evolved, I transitioned more prominently into cinema, where I now channel my creative vision. I’ve directed and written several works, from documentaries to short films and experimental pieces like Labyrinthe de Jambes and El Fin de Una Era. My films often explore themes of identity, memory, and social issues, allowing me to experiment with new cinematic techniques.

In addition to my filmmaking, I offer script doctoring for audiovisual projects and dramaturgy for stage productions. I also create teasers for stage and music projects, and I lead workshops for youth and adults in scriptwriting, short film production, and creative storytelling, helping others bring their artistic ideas to life.
